Starting from a state where we have no experience with home appliances, we think that the monthly sales record of 2 million yen or more is sufficiently successful from our point of view.

President: There are still issues regarding the content of sales and the quality of service to customers. Half of the sales are from sales activities to customers in our main business, so I think we can still increase sales as a store.

● I thought that I would never succeed even if I dealt with things that are far from my main business

Now, I would like to ask you again, why did you choose to sell home appliances as a new additional business?

President: The main reason is that while selling office equipment to our main business customers, we wanted to propose a wider range of products. However, I thought that if it was far from my main business, I would never succeed. While searching for a product that does not deviate from the main business, home appliances came out as one answer.

Why did you choose EDION for selling home appliances?

President: EDION and had a good impression, but the main reason is, for example, that we have to close this store for some reason in the future. Customers who were using our shop when they disappeared are in trouble, right? When I thought that it was in such a worst situation, I thought that EDION was a company that could take care of the rest. In fact, I franchised other home appliances, but I thought EDION would be the best way to sell home appliances rooted in the community.

Founded in 1964 as a manufacturer affiliated store. Decided to join the company 49 years after its founding in order to combine the expertise of small stores with the know-how of mass sales.

● I want to bring back customers who have flown to mass retailers

Five years have passed since joining. Please tell us why it went well.

Store manager: I wanted to do some kind of point card even before joining, and with the introduction of the card, the number of young people is expected to increase, and the main aim was to bring back customers who had been flowing to mass retailers.
President: Young people are very interested in points and guarantees, and actively encouraged customers who do not have EDION As a result, the number of customers has increased and sales have more than doubled before joining. Looking back, I made a very big decision. I had a hard time at that time, but maybe the decision was right for my son.

● The POS system is our strong ally!

It seems that you have more opportunities to talk with customers. Please tell us why.

Store manager: The system can check inventory information of all stores and warehouses all over Japan at any time. If there is no manufacturer's inventory, you can have the inventory of a nearby directly managed store or FC store turned around and deliver it without waiting for the customer. You can also download and print POPs and price cards that you have taken the time to make from the POS system. Also, product information delivered from the headquarters can be checked at any time, making it easier to convey live information to customers. Conversations with customers have increased dramatically because of the effort saved. The POS system is a strong ally of our affiliated stores.

● For an electrician who can be reassured and reliable even after buying

Did changing the signboard change?

Store manager: Until now, repairs were done at our own store, so I think some customers might be mistaken for a "repair shop." When the estimate of the repair cost is high, it is often considered to buy a new one, and the customer will never come back. After a period of repeated such things, I had a good impression of EDION for a long time, and I began to study the mechanism of EDION, and my feelings for joining gradually expanded. Wovn. Only now if it changes! I decided to take the plunge and change the signboard. It's hard to get the image of "cheap" at local stores, but after joining, customers who have been replaced by repairs have come to purchase at our store in a natural way. The brand power of the signboard is great. That is a big difference from before joining. We will continue to grow as a home appliance store rooted in the community with this signboard!

● I decided to let my son take over

Please tell us why you decided to join

President: When I first heard about membership, the population of this area was declining, and I thought it would be okay to change the signboard, so I couldn't make up my mind. However, as customers talked about orders for products other than manufacturer-affiliated products and price differences from other mass retailers, I felt that management would become difficult in the next few years. I thought it was a pity to take over the store as it is for my son who is training outside, so I decided to join after discussing with my wife.

Please tell us what has changed since you joined.

President: First of all, I think the purchase price has become cheaper. In the case of the manufacturer series, the rebate differs depending on the purchase price, so the purchase price became higher, especially after the sales became severe. EDION, I am happy because the purchase price does not change even if I order one item. And young customers are coming. At the time of the open sale, we received very warm support from everyone in the city.

● We want our customers to be happy to sell "good things"

Could you tell us if you have any commitment from the president?

President: It's not something I'm particular about, but it's about selling "good things" to customers and making them happy. EDION and can do that more than ever.

Do you like being a member?

President: I think it was very good. Mr. manufacturer was good from the series era of the relationship store, EDION are affiliated to, that of out of the store EDION it was our introduction to the people of, we were able to join in a trailing edge. After that, I felt that things were improving, and I'm really glad that I joined again.
