EDION Corporate Site Changes to SSL-2 SHA Certificate

We appreciate EDION patronage and thank him very much.
July 14, 2015 (Tuesday) From 9:00 to 10:00, the encryption algorithm of the SSL certificate of " EDION Corporate Site" will be changed to "SHA-2" method. (Service will be suspended for about 10 minutes at the time of change.)
As a result, if the OS, browser version, smartphone, mobile phone model, etc. of the customer's personal computer used to access the EDION Corporate Site does not support the "SHA-2" certificate, the "SHA-2 Please note that you will not be able to browse the EDION Corporate Site after changing the certificate to the "" method.

  • What is "SHA-2"?
    A type of method for encrypting communications. The security is improved by using a more advanced encryption method than the conventional "SHA-1" method.
    Microsoft has stated that Windows will stop using SSL communication with "SHA-1" certificates on January 1, 2017.
  • Environments that cannot be used
    ・ WindowsXP SP2, Internet Explorer5.5 or earlier
    ・ Android OS 2.2 or earlier
    ・ Mobile phones released before 2009 (some devices can be updated with some updates)
    (For use environments that do not support the "SHA-2" method, product manufacturer support has already ended, so it is recommended to upgrade or upgrade the model from the security aspect.)
